Orestone Manor is a splendid 4*AA gold star rated independent country house hotel. The magnificent manor house is set in the pretty South Devon coastal village of Maidencombe, with spectacular sea views. The hotel has been independently owned and operated by the D’allen family for the last 12 years and continues to delight its guests, remaining one of our favourite boutique hotels in the south-west.

The D’allen family includes (L to R) : James – Duty Manager, Catherine – Owner, Neil – Owner & Chef Patron, Laura – Head of Reception, Lyra – the youngest member of the team, and Craig – General Manager. The award-winning new look Bay Restaurant has wonderful views over the sea and countryside. Neil D’allen, the chef patron, puts all the care & attention into every dish that only an owner would, creating delicious menus and working with the finest local producers and suppliers. Awarded two AA rosettes for fine dining, the Bay Restaurant offers a cosy candlelit ambiance with attentive, discreet service. Other awards of note include Taste of the West Gold 2016 to present day and “Best Hotel Restaurant” 2019/2020 Food & Drink Devon.

To further enhance the guest experience the hotel recently underwent a full refurbishment programme, creating unique guestrooms, elegantly designed and furnished with the finest fabrics, wallpaper and fittings.

With just 14 guestrooms, you can expect an intimate approach to your stay, tailored to best suit you. Each room is unique, differing in size, shape and style. All rooms benefit from complimentary bathrobes (upon request from reception) & slippers, telephone, en-suite bathrooms and hospitality trays.

The main hotel is going ‘Adults Only’ throughout the month of August, this means no children under the age of 12 will be permitted in any of the the rooms in the main house or in The Bay Restaurant – although they can dine in The Conservatory Restaurant for all evening meals.
