Yorkshire Country House obtains Top Industry Award.

Congratulations to Goldsbrough Hall who have been awarded three coveted AA rosettes at the recent Restaurant Awards ceremony.

Goldsbrough Hall, near Knaresbrough in Yorkshire, is just one of 15 new restaurants across the UK to have been given three rosettes. A long time favourite of Country Hotel Breaks, we are just as thrilled as they are with the news.

Goldsbrough Hall has constantly strived to offer guests the very best fine dining experience, having previously held a three rosette status in 2020. A change of chef lead to the prestigious accolade being downgraded, since which time Goldsbrough has worked tirelessly to win it back.

The arrival of new executive chef Josh Barnes last September put Goldsbrough Hall back on track – Josh has previously worked in various Michelin-starred restaurants in London, and now works closely with Goldsbrough’s head gardener to include locally sourced and home-grown produce in his culinary offerings.

Goldsbrough Hall has a wonderfully rich history having once been the home of Princess Mary (The Aunt of Queen Elizabeth II). Over the years the Jacobean mansion has served as a school and a care home, before eventually being sold off in the 1950s – after which point it lay abandoned and derelict for a while. The Oglesby family rescued the property in 2005 and transformed it into a luxury five star hotel, which has since been certified as an AA Five Gold Star property. Recent guests include Prince Harry and Sir John Major.

We are delighted to share the news of their most recent success and wish Josh Barnes, along with all of the kitchen and hotel staff, continued success.

If you would like to experience Goldsbrough Hall, and all it has to offer, we have put together a fabulous package that allows you to enjoy the most luxurious accommodation and a wonderful 5-course tasting menu, and full English breakfast for just £144 per person. Stay 3 nights+ and receive a complimentary Royal full afternoon tea.
